Travel information

Coming from the A8 Munich direction Salzburg, drive on until you reach exit 112, Traunstein, Siegsdorf, Inzell, Rupholding. At the end of the exit drive in the direction of Inzell, Lofer, Saalfelden, Zell am See (B311). Past Lofer you will see the first welcome-signs of Saalfelden. On the left you'll pass Hotel/Gasthof Schörhof, hereafter the first exit to the right, direction Euring, Lenzing. Straight on, over a bridge. After the bridge you take the first street on the right (with houses). Straight on and to your left is Haus Hochkönigblick

For this route you don't need to buy a "Autobahnvignet" !!

Important for the trip

Make sure you are travelling with a valid passport or ID card. Your Travellers Cheques are exchangeable at the banks and post offices. The acceptance of Credit Cards varies from place to place. Saalfelden  has bank and post offices and so does Leogang. Both villages have numerous ATM-machines as well.
Note that banks and post offices are closed on Saturdays.

Autobahnvignet

In Austria you have to buy acces to the motorways with a special ‘autobahnvignet’ You can buy these vignets at the border. Prices depend on the length of your stay. A 10-day vignet costs approx. € 8

Winterequipment for the car

In the winter it is essential that your car is well equiped for the winterconditions (winter tyres and snow chains). We recommend to try at home how the snow-chains are mounted, so you will already know how to do this when it becomes necessary.
